imagistic Begins Custom Development for HAPI

Earlier this month, Imagistic received signoff on its 186-page functional specifications document for the Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI), and embarked on the development phase of the intranet system.

HAPI reviews articles and other materials from more than 500 key social science and humanities journals published throughout the world. HAPI's internal indexing and review process currently uses Filemaker databases, PERL scripts, index cards, paper printouts and filing systems. In 2011, HAPI hired Imagistic to reverse engineer the existing infrastructure, document it for reference, and design a new system with improved efficiencies, a minimized reliance on paper, and an increase in user and system accuracy.

Imagistic is developing this new custom intranet application using the CodeIgniter web application framework and jQuery on a Linux-based VPS.
